Future-proofing your IP Prosecution practice

Leading law firm IP Prosecution support leadership teams come together to anticipate what’s next

BURLINGTON, VT – June 21, 2018

Aurora North Software, a leader in delivering IP solutions and Intapp products for law firms, facilitated a rich discussion among law firm practice management of the future of IP prosecution at its Innovative Practice Forum (‘IPF’) meeting series in Chicago on June 8th.

Since its inception in early 2017, the IPF has hosted events focused on connecting cross-functional participants nationally to generate meaningful conversations and actionable approaches for enhancing the ways firms prosecute IP matters.

This year’s Chicago IPF meeting drew COOs, CFOs, and Directors of Practice Support from general practice firms and IP boutiques based in Chicago, Cincinnati, Kansas City, Minneapolis, and Washington, DC.

Times are changing. Processes are changing. Are your people changing? Is your culture changing?

Aurora North directors Brian Aitchison and Patrick Goodwin facilitated sessions focused on client analytics, optimizing the IP prosecution teams, and effectively managing disparate client instructions. A key theme across all subjects was the constant pace of change.

“IPF is a great forum to compare notes with a group of experts from across the industry. The legal landscape is changing in ways that increase the need to optimize resources to continue delivering exceptional service to our clients,” said Charles King, Director of IP Practice Data and Systems of Cooley. “Our proven track record in supporting complex IP matters continues to drive additional volume. While this is a good problem to have, we have to find ways to work smarter in order to get the most out of our staff and attorneys. There has to be a better way forward and the IPF is focused on identifying those types of solutions.”

IPF started strong in 2018 with their first meeting in Minneapolis with local IP experts in late February. Upcoming meetings include Washington, D.C. in September and San Francisco in October. These are invitation-only events. If you would like to attend, please contact Brian Lynch (blynch@auroranorthsoftware.com).
